Purpose:

This section of the Project wiki is designed to facilitate networking among those individuals who either are, will soon, or are actively considering studying for a doctorate at a university that also prepares individuals to be teachers of students who are deaf/hard of hearing (d/hh). Such networking, combined with a knowledge of deaf education related research that is being carried out in universities throughout the nation, is designed to lead to both a more collaborative model of doctoral preparation and research. You are encouraged to share:
  1. information that will facilitate your meeting and getting to know other current/projected/interested doctoral students;
  2. ideas/suggestions that will further enhance your doctoral studies and experience; and
  3. raise questions that serve to further inform and direct your current and future work within the field of Deaf Education.
The more you share, the more you seek collaborative relationships, the better prepared you will be to assume a leadership position within the field. So please take a "risk" by asking, or answering a questions, or comment.

Note: Your ideas are also requested concerning how faculty/programs can stay in touch with their doctoral students following graduation. The current system of informal and infrequent contacts is inefficient and flawed.
